Towards Creating a Vision of Global Sustainability
A Theoretical Treatment of Resource Utilisation, Population and Power: A heuristic model is proposed which attempts
to define the relationships between the use of resources, a mechanism for the control and management of resources, population,
power and the conditions which regulate and define various levels of sustainability of resources. The ultimate aim is to identify
key contributions to achieving sustainability and to highlight research areas which may form the scientific basis of a
global vision of sustainability. A new economic paradigm is proposed based upon sustainable utilisation of resources.
