Boadiciea by Death's Shore

    She lampooned me
        with her glacial viper tongue
            slashing, slashing, slashing…

    She harpooned me
        at close range
            penetrating my chest
                pinning my wounded body
                    to the sand…

Between semi conscious moments of death
my attention lingered on a question:
            which pained more?…

    Her shadow now over me
sword raised triumphantly toward the sky
            she plunged the weapon slowly
                deeply into my bowels…

and the answer came in a whisper…
'her words', 'her words', 'her words'
            and I am no more…
